REINVENTED RECLAIMED REIMAGINED
Welcome to the specialist Reclaim Division of Lapicida
When you acquire a genuine antique reclaimed floor from Lapicida you become its trusted custodian, its guardian for future generations. You add the next chapter to the story.
Generations of knowledge and tradition mean our craftsmen can expertly hand select and finish reclaimed stone to form antique floor patterns to enhance your project. Every tile or stone received by a client is usable with no wastage.
Uniquely, Lapicida has brought together bespoke machine technology and artisan craftsmen, working in union so that the antique stones are fit for modern building requirements – whilst maintaining the historic integrity of the original quarried stone.
These images show our specialist Reclaim Division at Lapicida near Harrogate. They should provide insight into the scale of the operation with many products held in stock ready for delivery. The images also display some of the artisan skills we have developed over the decades, handed down through the generations:
LAPICIDA : RECLAIM EXPERTS
This Genuine Antique English Reclaimed Flag floor may look like an original floor laid centuries ago, yet it was actually only recently supplied to a private residence in Martha’s Vineyard, New England.
Before it made its journey across the Atlantic it had been sourced by Lapicida then expertly recalibrated into a more regular thickness of around 30mm for ease of installation before being carefully colour selected to the client’s specific requirements.
That is the Lapicida way. That is why Lapicida is the obvious choice for those who understand the processes and skills involved in the supply of a reclaimed floor. A Lapicida reclaimed floor is very special and will always remain unique to your project.

HISTORIC PATINA
From Antique English, Blonde Barr and Spanish Grey Cordoba Marble to Orleans Terracotta, Antique Jerusalem and Barr de Montpellier, nothing can match the beauty and patina of genuine antique reclaimed materials.
Each surface carries unique tones and textures, heavy with history. Still beautiful from thousands of footsteps and ready for thousands to come.
John Ruskin (1819-1900), the famous Victorian polymath, is attributed with saying:
“It’s unwise to pay too much, but it’s worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money – that’s all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do.”
That maxim hold true with reclaimed flooring today.
THINK GREEN : THINK RECLAIM
There are few things in life that are as green as reclaimed building materials. What can be more environmentally friendly than repurposing an antique floor for 21st century living – whether as part of a new build or restoration project?
At Lapicida, we pride ourselves on the fact that we can take a centuries-old floor, then use our in-house skills to turn it into a product that can enhance another property for a further 100 years. And, one day, that same floor could be reused to enhance another property, and another, ad infinitum.
Reclaim and reimagine for reuse is the mantra embraced by the specialist Reclaim Division at Lapicida.

TALK TO OUR EXPERTS
Lapicida is always looking to acquire good quality reclaimed antique flooring and surfaces. If you have something you think might be suitable, please do let us know.
Equally, if you have a thick slab floor and would like to improve your living environment by installing underfloor heating or a damp proof course (or for another technical reason), we can offer a splitting service to reduce the thickness of each slab so that work can be undertaken.
Likewise, if you are looking to extend a property and want to match flooring throughout to the existing, then we may also be able to help. We can split, redress and resupply to make your existing flooring go further.
All things are possible when you are in contact with the reclaim experts at Lapicida.
