Our Project Consultants have worked on many projects of different size and complexity for the hotel and leisure industry. The 5-star Matfen Hall Country Hotel and Golf Spa, a wonderfully historic hall near Newcastle upon Tyne, is one of our most recent and impressive.
STUNNING INTERNAL ARCHITECTURE
Lapicida Project Consultant Rebecca Cherrington worked closely with interior designer Trevor Erskine Meade from Incognito Interiors on selecting a beautiful yet highly practical floor for the Cloisters Restaurant and Bar.

PORCELAIN STONE & MARBLE
Trevor opted for our distinctive porcelain stone tiles with porcelain marble inserts from our Eternal Collection. Both surfaces perfectly replicate their natural stone and marble counterparts, but have the extreme durability of porcelain.
Our bespoke cutting service, using special tools to process porcelain, cut the corners of the tiles and created the square inserts.

This bespoke design has accents which provide the classical insert detail borders that frame the different areas and stairs of the Cloisters Restaurant and Bar.”

THE HYGIENE FACTOR
What also attracted Trevor to both these tiles is that they are from our Eternal Collection which is a range of tiles with special antibacterial properties.
An antibacterial shield has been infused into the surfaces of the tiles, creating a permanent, protective layer that eliminates up to 99.9% of bacteria – perfect for restaurants where a high level of hygiene is essential.
