BLACKFRIARS PRIORY, GLOUCESTER
One of the most complete Dominican friaries from the Middle Ages, Blackfriars in Gloucester was built in the thirteenth-century to house forty friars who worshipped, preached and carried out charitable work. In the sixteenth-century it became a mansion and weaving factory before the west range was converted into terraced housing and the library into a bottling plant.
