Bettys is a Yorkshire icon and destination venue known worldwide. Lapicida has worked with the organisation for over 15 years. First supplying stone and tile surfaces for the Harrogate Café Tea Rooms in 2008.

The test of time
Did you know that the Harrogate Branch of Bettys sees around 400k people walk over the floor every year?
Lapicida supplied the beautiful Portuguese limestone – which graces the floor of the café bar, shop and stairs leading to the Veranda Café, over a decade ago. The blue and beige chequer surface was selected for its quality and beauty.
A durable and hard-wearing material, it remains in the same pristine condition today as it was when first installed over a decade ago. The floor has retained its natural colour and soft finish too, making it a true investment piece.
Bespoke mosaic
More recently, Lapicida was commissioned to create the bespoke mosaic featured on the floor of the entrance area. An exclusive design unique to Bettys, a bold red ‘B’ stands prominent against delicate green vines. Countless footsteps have walked across its surface.
Aesthetic Details
“At Bettys we love working in partnership with local craftspeople to design the interiors of our shops and café tea rooms. We have been working with Lapicida for over fifteen years.
Spending time with experts, Rebecca and Jason, selecting products that are perfect for Bettys is always a pleasure. The limestone that we chose for the shop and Montpellier Café Bar in Harrogate is extremely hard wearing, it has to be in Bettys given the number of customers we serve every day.
As well as being durable, it is very easy to clean and looks beautiful, it has proved to be the ideal flooring for that area. When we last refurbished Bettys Harrogate we installed a bespoke mosaic in the entrance hall, supplied by Lapicida. We worked closely together to create a design that suits the Bettys aesthetic and reflects the quality and attention-to-detail of both businesses.
Today, the Lapicida showroom is very large and impressive and it’s much easier to see and select the best products. The help, advice and service is as good as ever.”
