If you like chequerboard floors, you’ll be interested in The World of Interiors’ March 2021 edition. In their regular “Inspiration” feature, it looks at opulent interiors, specifically the red and white chequerboard marble floor of Schloss Favourite’s baroque Sala Terrena at the Rastatt Favorite Palace in Germany. To recreate the effect, The World of Interiors selects two Lapicida marbles Rosso Francia and Arabescato marbles. Rosso Francia is a striking dark red coloured marble with prominent white markings which contrasts perfectly with classic white marbles such as Arabescato Carrara. Together they create a stunning classic chequerboard effect.
